One way to achieve this is to have your stylist decide on your natural tones, for me it's ash, but most have natural red tones. Most stylist will put an all over color on your hair and expect that to look natural. But no natural color on earth is one shade.

For achieving this look I section the hair into four sections. two in the back and one on each side with the part they use when they style their hair. Using two inch slices i weave tiny pieces and foil in lightener (i use matrix v-light) when i get to the top sections i do the same process but i don't foil the top slices where the part is. I apply the desired color on the rest. This application allows the hair to have a more natural outcome.
